An AR car configurator can let a customer explore an approved vehicle model in a physical setting through a supported device. The value lies in connecting a convincing spatial preview to real, selectable vehicle options and a useful next step. We develop the visual assets and interaction around the intended launch, sales or demonstration journey.

01 / Our approach

Prototype the vehicle and the setting

A vehicle in AR is not automatically a sales-ready configurator. Model fidelity, scale, colour, supported devices, option data and the handoff to a dealer or enquiry system all need to be planned together.

We begin with a representative vehicle, the approved model data and the choices customers should be able to explore. A focused prototype tests placement, scale, lighting and control clarity on the target phones or tablets. We then define the asset levels, selectable finishes or components and the route from a saved choice to the brand’s existing sales process. Any pricing, inventory, dealer or order integration depends on the systems and permissions supplied by the client.

02 / Production scope

What we can build with you.

01

Vehicle asset preparation

Adapt approved exterior or interior source models for responsive viewing, with agreed accuracy, material references and performance budgets.

02

Spatial preview and controls

Develop placement, rotation and selected option controls for supported devices, with clear guidance and a conventional 3D fallback where needed.

03

Launch or sales handoff

Connect the experience to the agreed call to action, such as requesting a brochure, saving an approved configuration or contacting a dealer.

03 / Applications

Where it can make a difference.

01

Vehicle launch

Let a customer inspect a forthcoming model in a chosen setting when a physical display vehicle is unavailable.

02

Showroom extension

Give sales teams an additional way to present approved colours, trims or models without promising that every option is in stock.

03

Event demonstration

Create a guided AR viewing moment for a campaign or exhibition, with device support and operating conditions tested before launch.

04 / Planning your project

Treat AR as one part of the sales journey.

The digital car must feel grounded in the physical space, but a visual preview should not imply that dimensions, finish or local availability are guaranteed. Agree the model version, rights and approval process with the vehicle owner. Test lighting, tracking and interaction in the settings that matter to the campaign. Define how a customer leaves AR, reviews the selected options and contacts the right team. If analytics or saved configurations are required, scope consent, identifiers and data retention before implementation.

Define one useful viewing journey.

Start with the vehicle and one or two customer decisions worth testing. Explain where the experience will be used, who approves model accuracy and which devices the audience is likely to have. Add the source of approved colour, trim and availability data. A narrow first prototype can answer the placement and interface questions before the team commits to a wider vehicle range or backend integration.

05 / Before you brief us

Useful questions.

Can people view a life-size vehicle in their driveway?

That can be an intended interaction on compatible devices and suitable surfaces, but placement and apparent scale need testing. The preview is not a measurement or safety tool.

Can it show every vehicle option and price?

Only options backed by approved product data can be shown reliably. Live pricing and availability require separately scoped integrations with the systems that own those values.

What happens on a device without AR support?

We plan a useful 3D viewer or conventional product journey so visitors can still explore the vehicle and continue to the next step.

Do you need production-ready vehicle models?

Existing automotive assets can be a starting point, but we review geometry, materials, rights and performance requirements before choosing what can be reused or must be rebuilt.
