A spatial application needs a physical plan

We develop applications around the target hardware, the space and the user's task. Early prototypes establish placement, input and movement before detailed content production begins.

Lighting, available floor space, furniture and the way people enter an experience all affect its use. We define those conditions alongside the software. A boardroom demonstration and a public installation need different onboarding, supervision and reset behaviour.

Scope the installation, not just the application.

Mixed reality development includes assumptions about the space that need to be tested. Can users move freely, or should the experience remain seated? Who resets a session when tracking is interrupted? Is a staff member available to introduce the hardware? Answering these questions helps define the interaction and operating plan. For repeat deployments, agree which conditions must stay consistent and what can be recalibrated. A short on-device prototype in a representative room is more useful for this decision than a polished desktop recording of an untested spatial interaction.

Can the application recognise our room?

Spatial mapping and recognition depend on the selected hardware and platform. We test the required behaviour in representative conditions rather than assuming universal support.

What should we provide for an estimate?

A description of the task, approximate space, intended audience, hardware constraints and whether the application will be supervised.
